A MOTHER for us all!

Viva Our Lady of Immaculate Conception!
During the Blessed Mother's apparition in Lourdes, France in 1858,
when Bernadette Soubirous asked what her name was, she replied,
"I am the Immaculate Conception."

As a nation, in a religious day of Obligation we celebrate the feast day of the Immaculate Conception (December 8). The feast gives honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary who conceived Jesus in her womb without the mark of original sin.

Father, You prepared the Virgin Mary to be the worthy mother of your son.

You let her share beforehand in the salvation Christ would bring by his death,
and kept her sinless from the first moment of her conception. Help us by her prayers
to live in your presence without sin. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
